Naveen Rabelli is a man on a mission. He has plans to wage a war for sustainability, and his secret weapon? A humble rickshaw. But before you dismiss the idea, let me tell you that his rickshaw is powered by the Sun. The plan is to travel about 10000 km from Bangalore to London, crossing 10 countries in the process powered solely by solar power and electricity.

The rickshaw is expected to cover 100 km a day while a target of 100 days has been set for the trip. It has been appropriately named ‘Tejas’ (meaning radiance). Tejas is reported to have a top speed of 45 km/h. Here is a short video of his London Dreams.

The objective is to promote sustainable transport and also to showcase an ‘Indian solution’. The journey will be filmed by an Australian film maker and will be later published worldwide. As any such mission would deserve, it has a really cool website. Check it out here.
