The Haryana government has come up with a plan to make solar power generation mandatory in different categories of buildings. If implemented it would lead to about 200 MW worth of solar implementation. It is not immediately clear if the state government is planning to shell out any additional subsidy as reports mention only CFA benefits.
For residential buildings of 500 square yards and above, located in municipal limits and in urban sectors, it would be made mandatory to install solar power plant of minimum one KW. The installation of the system, with subsidy, would be Rs.52,500. In case of all private hospitals and nursing homes, industrial establishments, commercial establishments, malls, hotel with connected load of 50 KW to 1000 KW, the solar power plant would be of minimum 10 KWp or five per cent of connected load, whichever is higher. Two additional categories have been considered.
